Rugged Souriau UTS LC Fiber Optic Connectors

October 13, 2014 - Mouser Electronics, Inc. is now stocking the UTS LC Fiber Optic Connectors from Souriau. These connectors allow easy ruggedization of standard LC optical contacts in a UTS connector shell.

The Souriau UTS LC Fiber Optic Connectors, available from Mouser Electronics, feature a built-in sealing system, UV resistance, and an audible/tactile click to confirm proper connection, which is an important attribute during field installations. UTS LC connector solutions are secure, easy-to-use, and designed to meet the new technology trends and demands of FTTH and FTTA systems, including junction cabinets, direct buried installations, or remote radio heads.

These connectors use a secure mating system that is designed to protect the LC contact. The shell material is rugged and designed for use in harsh environments. The connectors are designed for fast locking and require only a one-third turn to securely lock the connector. An audible click insures a solid and reliable connection has been made.

These connectors are rated Dynamic IP68 and can stay under water for a week at 1 bar. It is also rated Dynamic IP69K per DIN 40050. Temperature rating is -40°C to +105°C and has a salt spray resistance of 500 hours. These connectors are built for a long life and are UV-resistant and corrosion resistant. The UTS LC connector range is compatible with all LC contacts that meet IEC 61754‑20 standards. These connectors can be used with cables ranging from 3mm to 6mm outer diameter.

Applications for the Souriau UTS LC include FTTH drop cables, cell tower distribution boxes, factory automation, security cameras and signaling, and wind turbines.
