ams TCS3701 Color and Proximity Sensor Now at Mouser Electronics

The ams TCS3701 color and proximity sensor features ambient light and RGB color sensing in parallel with proximity detection in a low-profile 2.5 × 2.0 × 0.5mm package. The device provides five concurrent ambient light-sensing channels: Red, Green, Blue, Clear, and Wideband. The RGB and Clear channels have a UV/IR blocking filter. This architecture accurately measures ambient light. It enables the calculation of illuminance, chromaticity, and color temperature to manage display appearance.

Sensor applications for the TCS3701 include brightness and color management for displays, proximity detection, and touch screen disable.
