STMicroelectronics L99BM1T SPI-to-Isolated SPI Transceiver

STMicroelectronics L99BM1T General-Purpose SPI-to-Isolated SPI Transceiver creates a communication bridge between devices in different voltage domains. The STMicroelectronics L99BM1T transfers communication data incoming from a classical 4-wire-based SPI interface to a 2-wire isolated interface (and vice versa). The transceiver supports both transformer and capacitive isolation.

The device can be configured either as a slave or as a master of the SPI bus and supports any protocol made of SPI frames from 8- to 64-bit long. The SPI peripheral can work up to 10MHz when configured as a slave. SPI clock frequency can be programmed among (250kHz, 1MHz, 4MHz, and 8MHz) when configured as master. Isolated SPI peripheral features two operating modes: slow at 333kbps and fast at 2.66Mbps.

The asynchronicity between the two sides is internally managed, allowing all possible configuration frequencies on both peripherals to be used in application. The device is natively compatible with the L99BM114 isolated SPI, allowing usage in BMS applications. The STMicroelectronics L99BM1T SPI-to-Isolated SPI Transceiver is compatible with 3.3V and 5V logic.
