Analog Devices / Maxim Integrated MAX77278 Ultra-Low Power PMIC

Analog Devices MAX77278 Ultra-Low Power Power Management IC (PMIC) provides highly-integrated battery charging and power supply solutions for low-power applications where size and efficiency are critical. This PMIC features a Single-Inductor Multiple-Output (SIMO) buck-boost regulator that provides three independently programmable power rails from a single inductor. The MAX77278 PMIC provides a highly-configurable linear charger that supports a wide range of Li+ battery capacities and includes battery temperature monitoring. This device consists of a programmable current sink that can drive an IR LED, eight General-Purpose Input/Output (GPIO) pins, and an analog multiplex (AMUX) output.

The Analog Devices MAX77278 PMIC offers a bidirectional I2C interface that configures and checks the device's status. An internal on/off controller provides a controlled startup sequence for the regulators and supervisory functionality when the device is on. The MAX77278 PMIC comes with numerous factory programmable options, which allow the device to be tailored for many applications.
