"Mouser Machine" and Kanaan Perform Well at Toronto Indy
Strong Performance Moves Him up in Overall Point Standings
Mouser Electronics, Inc., regarded as a top design engineering resource and global distributor for semiconductors and electronic components, today saw Tony Kanaan battle to a 4th place finish at the Honda Toronto Indycar Race. Kanaan has had a string of Top 5 finishes placing him 6th in overall points for the Indycar World Championship.
The Honda Indy Toronto track is a challenging street circuit with 11 turns and is 2.824-km or 1.755-mi in length. The race makes its way through the streets of downtown Toronto near Exhibition Place and the beautiful Lake Ontario. Kanaan, racing in the No. 11 GEICO/MOUSER ELECTRONICS – KV Racing Technology Chevrolet/Firestone IndyCar, started mid pack at Sunday's race. Kanaan charged ahead early easily moving up through the field and even battled for the lead with eventual winner Ryan Hunter-Reay.
"Tony's driving skills never cease to amaze me," said Larry Johannes, Mouser Electronics' Vice President of Strategic Marketing. "Throughout the 2012 season, Tony has given the competition a run for their money. He doesn't back down and he always gives it everything he's got – every race. Mouser is proud to be behind a team with this kind of drive to succeed."
"It's been a wild day," Kanaan said after the race. "It didn't help with the drive-through penalty, but I had a great restart passing six cars and the guys did a great pit stop. We made a mistake using an old set of reds (alternate tires) in the last stint, so I was losing a lot of places, but I again managed to make it up on the restart. We are getting so close to a win, just not quite there yet."

The track is a 13-turn, 3.579 km temporary circuit set up at the Edmonton City Centre Airport near the downtown area of Alberta, Canada.
Mouser's comprehensive IndyCar racing program provides a high-tech platform to showcase its valued supplier partnerships and connect with the industry's top design engineers and electronic component buyers.
