KYOCERA AVX Automotive Solid Electrolytic Capacitors feature a range of tantalum, polymer, and niobium oxide capacitors that bring specific and unique features to suit specific application requirements. TKYOCERA AVX conventional tantalum / MnO2 capacitors offer a long lifetime and no wear-out mechanism. Niobium Oxide (OxiCap®) offers extreme stability for low voltage automotive applications, while conductive polymer offers low ESR, benign failure mode, and high voltage ratings.

Capacitor Solutions

KYOCERA AVX provides a large portfolio of capacitor solutions designed around density, size, and reliability requirements. Common capacitor types include aluminum electrolytic, tantalum electrolytic, ceramic, and film. KYOCERA AVX ceramic capacitors are commonly used in DC-DC converters, which can be found in nearly every subsystem of electric vehicles (EVs). 

AVX TCJ Series Capacitors with Conductive Polymer Electrodes - EXPANSION

AVX has expanded its line of TCJ Series Capacitors to include CV ranges of 0.47-470µF / 2.5-125V. The AVX TCJ Series Capacitors with Conductive Polymer Electrodes are tantalum solid electrolytic chip capacitors with a conductive polymer electrode to reduce ignition failure mode, with low ESR and 3x reflow at 260ºC compatability. The AVX TCJ Series Capacitors with Conductive Polymer Electrode are RoHS compliant and are available in 16 case sizes.

TCJ Capacitors with Conductive Polymer Electrode

KYOCERA AVX TCJ Capacitors are tantalum solid electrolytic chip capacitors with a conductive polymer electrode to reduce ignition failure mode. KYOCERA AVX has expanded the TCJ series to include additional capacitance and voltage values and lower ESR ratings. With low ESR and 3x reflow at +260°C compatibility, the KYOCERA AVX TCJ series provides CV ranges of 0.47µF to 680µF / 2.5V to 125V. The TCJ series is RoHS compliant and available in a wide range of case sizes.

High CV SMD Capacitor Solutions

KYOCERA AVX High Capacitance / Voltage (CV) SMD Capacitors are designed to enable optimum performance across all power applications. This ceramic capacitor solution for SMD applications includes extremely high CV (X5R) MLCCs with low ESR for general-purpose decoupling and filtering and high CV (X7R, X7S, and X8R) MLCCs with FlexiTerm for industrial, automotive (AEC-Q200), and commercial applications. KYOCERA AVX Electrolytic Capacitor solutions include small case size tantalum chip, conductive polymer, and fail-safe niobium oxide (Oxicap™) that overlap with commercial, industrial, and AEC-Q200 ceramic ratings, in many cases providing interchangeable solutions. In contrast, the larger case sizes provide even higher CV options.
